Emmy Winner Known for Roles in "The Bodyguard" and "Night at the Museum"

William Francisco Cobbs, known professionally as Bill Cobbs, a prominent Black American actor with roles in more than 150 films and television shows, died on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the age of 90.

Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Cobbs had a 50-year career in the entertainment industry, leaving behind a legacy of memorable characters on both the big and small screens. He was known for his roles in films such as "The Hitter" (1979), "The Brother" (2000), and the "Night at the Museum" franchise, as well as television shows like "The Cosby Show" and "The Wire."

Cobbs's talent was recognized with a Daytime Emmy Award in 2008 for his role in "The Aunt Esther Story." He continued to act until recent years, with his final film role being in "A Quiet Place Part II" (2021).
